Cisco accuired Core Optics

Cisco The world leader in networking for the Internet and Cisco Certifications announced the completion of the acquisition of the privately held company Core Optics.

Core Optics specializes in the development of digital signal processors (DSP) for applications in optical high-speed networks .Headquartered in San Jose, California most of its employees in Nuremberg and Gerlingen.

Core Optics is the third European acquisition for Cisco in the last twelve months. It underscores the innovative strength of the European market, said Michael Ganser, senior vice president and CEO of Cisco in Germany. With this acquisition we will transfer new technologies for Internet service providers to offer customers. These enable service providers to the requirements relating to the management of Internet traffic to fulfill .An important building block for the expansion of broadband technology and thus for the global competitiveness of our country.

Sun service provider will be able to provide 100 gigabits per second (Gbps) transmission technology that can better scale their networks and support the rapid growth of IP (Internet Protocol) traffic through video, mobility and Cloud Applications. Cisco's Visual Networking Index (VNI) is found to increase fivefold the amount of data worldwide on the Internet 2008-2013, representing an annual 40% growth rate.

Cisco already very active in the field to trained IT professional for various Cisco certifications like CCNA(Cisco Certified Network Associate) , CCNP Certification and CCIE(Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert).

The next wave of innovations in the market for optical solutions will be shaped by complex modulation formats, and digital signal processors (DSPs). These new technologies enable the efficient transmission of large amounts of data over existing fiber links. With the attainment of high speeds on existing networks, Cisco and Core Optics service providers the ability to transport growing volumes of data cost-effectively.

The acquisition strengthens Cisco's Core Optics market position in Europe and promotes the innovation of the company in the field of optical networks; building on existing structures at the site Monza (Italy) can be built. The acquisition of Core Optics Cisco wins a team of highly motivated staff with solid expertise in the development of ASIC, complex modulation technology, as well as optical systems, applications and network architecture.
