PLZ HELP!! The difference of my two lucky numbers is 4. Twice the larger number is one more than triple the sm?
The difference of my two lucky numbers is 4. Twice the larger number is one more than triple the smaller number. Give the SUM OF THE SQUARES OF THE TWO NUMBERS!
X-Y=4 = X=4+Y
2X-1=3Y
Plugging x into the other equation we get: 2(4+Y)-1=3Y
Which simplifies to 7+2y=3y
When we subtract 2y's we get Y=7
y is your smaller number. plug 7 into the top equation and we get
X-7=4. X must equal 11.
the sum of the squares would be 170
