Longer golf clubs or standard sumo set?
I'm considering a new set of irons, the old sumo nikes.
Only problem is for last three years I have been playing with inch longer clubs.
I'm 6ft5, so 3 years I bought a standard inch longer set.
I have used standard size sets since but am not sure wether to buy a standard set again.
Do I need longer clubs?
I really like the sumo's!!!
You definitely need longer clubs but you also need to look at how the club sole sits on the ground - the lie. I am 5' 4" play of 9 and use Ping clubs with an Orange dot. If you were to use my clubs which are standard length the toe would be pointing down and the heel up. If I used Ping clubs for a guy of 6' 5" it would be reversed. Ping tweak the lie to suit your height and colour code them.
