I am giving my 13 yr old Bassethound a daily senior vitamin?
Her coat and appetite are better but I wonder if there is anything harmful in them like too much iron or other ingredients that could overload her?

She is fairly spritely for her age and appears to have no back stiffness or leg problems.
She should be fine.My vet recommends Pet Tabs Plus for senior dogs and they have never hurt my dogs.But you can also help her by giving her a glucosamine /chondroitin supplement along with salmon oil,which is great for old dogs.My vet recommends Cosequin DS and Welactin,but you can buy Cosamin DS and Rexall Salmon Oil softgels at Walmart for half the price of the veterinary formulas and they are the same thing - my vet told me. Adding some veggies,fruits,yogurt,eggs and oatmeal to her diet is great for her,and big, raw beef bones are good for her teeth.Other good supplements are CoQ 10 and Acetyl L-Carnitine and Alpha Lipoic Acid.
