Dish Network Forged an Inital on there contract, but it is not on my original! Help!?
Dish Network is trying to say we signed a 24month agreement, and want us to pay an early termination fee, as well as they have not cut service as I asked 9/23/09 we no longer live at that address, I have been phone arguing with the law dept of Dish, Dish said I or my husband initialed a 24 month, I said no we did not, and I have proff, Dish finally sent a copy of there contract after 3 months and there copy has initials that are not even ours and there are numbers written on there contract that are not on my original, can anyone help us stick it to them, they are trying to get over on people and isn't forgery a crime? I need advise who can help us.
That's fraud, and there's a LOT of it going on these days - has been for some time, even with supposedly reputable companies. You can call your local Better Business Bureau, my bet is that yours is not the first complaint. You can also call your state corporate affairs department.
Some TV news programs have a "consumer advocate," it often helps your cause to sic them on a faceless company; they don't like the bad publicity.
If those fail, you can take it to law - no court will uphold a contract that has been shown to be forged. Watch out for your credit rating, companies will often report you to the credit agencies for unpaid bills even if they lose a court suit.
Don't give up, though. Rolling over for these guys will just encourage them to keep on doing it to other people.
