why do we have so many types of screws and screw drivers?
phillips, hex, tri wing...why so many?
and some sources to back the question up would be awesome!
so the producers can make money..... that is if you are talking about the everyday household screws used. However some screws are safety screws to protect items(electronics or access panels) from people in public places and those drivers are either hard to find or require a license to purchase.
A Phillips is easy to operate because the driver is held in place by the screw. flat heads are usually not a load bearing screw,,,, more like a tack compared to a nail... Phillips usually hold weight and are stronger..... used to build homes because they don't move when wood swells with water exposure....
