Why would you want to?
All it would do is cause you to hit it shorter.
What you should do is learn to hit your driver with more control
Most people who don't hit their driver well, but who usually have a reasonable swing...try and hit the driver too hard.This generally means less balance poor tempo and hitting too soon from the top of the swing
The very fact that the driver has a longer shaft will give you the distance
I've had heaps of people say to me "Gees I wish I could hit my driver off the Tee as consistently as my 3 wood"
I usually answer this way
"Well as long as you position ball in your stance correctly and tee it at the right height and then swing your Driver with the same tempo and balance as you do your 3 wood and you will!!"
