How to wire component speakers from the parcel shelf to head unit?
Got the speakers, tweeters, crossovers, know how to connect them together. How could i wire these to the head unit from the parcel shelf in a 106? Or is it just worth putting them in the front doors where the standards currently are? Thanks.
The sound stage is at the front you would benefit from the most by having them up front.
Second thing is that to get the most out of them it would be worth while hooking them up to an amp.
Otherwise, output that goes to where the original speakers are... goes into the cross over box.. the box has two outputs.. 1 for the woofer and 1 for the tweeter.. so you will see about 6 connectors on one side of the block.. 1 input and 2 outs (high and low). If it is a good cross over box then you should have a high pass and low pass setting... remember to set the tweeter to high pass... and the woofer to low pass...
high pass lets high frequency through so the tweeter will tweet... where as if you set a tweeter and woofer up on the low pass channel.. chances are the tweeter would blow.. as it would be receiving low frequency (bass). So keep that in mind.
It gets a bit better... the tweeter may have a setting on the back of it so you can set how high pitch the high frequencies are... experiment with this and your different types of music to see what sounds better...
