need help with buying clubs?
i am ready to buy my first set of clubs and need some help. I am beginning out and just starting the sport. I have already had a few lessons. I have been told by 3 different pro shops to look at taylormade burner series, callaway big bertha series and ping g10 series. i want something with maximum forgiveness, and will last long enough so that i can be competitive with them. i was also told to look at hybrid iron sets (callaway ft i-brid and cleveland hibore) since they are more forgiving. any ideas? what clubs should make up my set? please help!
I would talk to the pros you got the lessons from and find out what type of sets they think would fit you the best. Clubs come in many different sizes, lofts, lies, lengths, and weighting. Getting fitted for clubs is always a good idea, especially since you mentioned that you wanted to keep them for awhile. The fitting will tell you everything you need before you go spend anymore money on materials.
Each persons game is different, some people have more hybrids than irons now and some have no hybrids at all, some have more wedges than woods, and some only have 2 wedges. It all depends on how you swing.
