Big Bertha War
How many Big Bertha's did they make in World War 1?

The "Big Bertha" Howitzer was known primarily as "The Paris Gun" when used effectively as a siege mortar upon the French capitol, it was subsequently nicknamed "Big Bertha" later on!!!

The Germans indeed built several Railway mounted heavy guns such as this example, sorry can't give an actual number though. I'd be "guestimating", but I think there may have been 3 or 4 of them, but they were not all of equal caliber, others were smaller than this example.

They were never used in large numbers as they were very expensive to build at the time, logistically they were a nightmare to move and keep supplied as they invariably used up large resources of men etc to operate them too. Obviously they were completely reliant upon train tracks as well, a major limitation in their useage.
