If you are a physics /Chemistry master kindly give the answers to the following question please...?
1. How can we connect four resistances of values 4 ohms
4 ohms 4 ohms and 12 ohms to get an effective resistance of 6 ohm...?
2. What is the H+ ion concentration in an aquous solution having ( OH ) = 1X 10 power minus 11 mol L minus 1....?
Kindly answer me urgently please,,,...
1) All you need to know is that resistances sum in series and and sum as reciprocals in parallel (e.g., the equivalent resistance of two 4 ohm resistors in series is 4 + 4 = 8 ohms, while the equivalent resistance of two 4 ohm resistors in parallel is 1/(1/4 ohm + 1/4 ohm) = 1/R_eq = 1/(2 ohms), so the equivalent resistance is 2 ohms). Try putting the resistors in different combinations of series and parallel and see if you can make the equivalent resistance equal 6 ohm.
Hint: Since the 12-ohm resistor has a greater resistance than the desired resistance, it will need to be placed in parallel with (an)other resistor(s)
2) Remember that [H+][OH] (the molarities of hydronium and hydroxide) is always equal to 1.0 x 10^-14, and solve for [H+].
I hope this helps. Next time, you might try checking out your textbook, too... often re-reading the relevant sections can give you the information you need to solve the problems.
