Pitching Wedge
What would be a good degree+loft for a lob wedge for pitching and chipping?

From the fairway and little rough, and what brand?

Well to answer your question fully here are the things you have to consider. If you play at a specific golf course(s) regularly, then assess the course. Is the course flat, a lot of rough thick grass around the greens,do you neede to 'lob' it alot..?? 56deg of loft is standard SW. 60deg for lob. a nice thing to have to is a gap wedge 52deg. for the in between shots..if you are a beginner golfer then i would suggest to stay away from the lob wedge. Tinker around the chipping green more, from that time spent practicing you will get a feel for what wedge degree you will feel comfortable with. As far as brand..again if you are starting, stick with the big names Cleveland,Tilteist. Wedges and putters are the most 'individualistic' clubs in a golf set, whats appealing to your eye when you set the club down? How does it feel when hittiing a ball? Ive been golfing for close to 20yrs and once held a 1 handicap and have at least 6 diff wedges of diff .degrees of loft bounce and softness (the material the wedges are made of).. GL
