replacing a shaft in ping g10?
i'm looking to replace the shaft in my ping g10. I have a pershing graphite design x right now. Looking for something thats going to give me a mid flight. Major thing is that my swing speed is slower so I just want a stiff flex. Any suggestions?
Graphite shafts differ widely from manufacturer to manufacturer there is no industry standard. Most shafts sold with today's top drivers are designed for higher handicaps golfers, they don't want the average golfer being unhappy. Stiff flex is for swings speeds of 90mph and up. You need to have your swing sped checked and swing at 80% not out of your shoes. Next consider kick points in the shaft (where the shaft flexes the most) this help keep the ball low or launch it high. Pick oe manufacturer and stick with them you may have buy more than one shaft. I hope that you have a low handicap and understand your general trajectory, there are lot of factors to take into account.
The course you play where do you play (texas) a lot of wind you want to keep the ball flight low. Take all these things into consideration and research shaft manufacturers and there specs. Chances are you might not get the right shaft for you the first time.
