Pro Feel and Stability Callaway X-22 Tour Irons Review
The Callaway X-22 Tour Irons are an improvement on the X-20 Tour Irons and are designed with more professional players in mind. The thin topline on the head shape works with a 360-degree undercut channel to keep the length short and the center of gravity low. These are performance irons designed for accomplished golfers seeking premium feel and stability. And they are very hot sales in every golf shop.
The X-22 Tour irons feature some technology. Precision Notch Weighting and a new sleeker hosel combine to raise the moment of inertia (MOI) for better stability and allow the center of gravity (CG) to be moved lower and more in line with the center of the face. This generates ideal trajectories and significantly enhances the level of feel. The head shape has been refined with the thinnest possible topline while still using a 360-Degree Undercut Channel, and the optimized sole width progression provides better turf interaction.
The Callaway X-22 Tour Irons are pleasing to look down at with the satin finish and the absence of the Callaway S2H2 hosel design and a classic black ferrule. The overall size of the head is very pleasing to the eye and is geared towards the better player, with a smaller toe to heel design and a thinner top-line. The back of the head is understated with touches of black and grey and has none of the flashy graphics that other irons have, or even the bright graphics of the regular X-22 irons.
The Callaway X-22 Tour Irons are extremely playable and were a blast to play with, hitting shots that turned out to be fantastic with a less than ideal swing. The X-22 Tour was playable from most situations on the golf course, excelling in shots from the rough and the fairways. For those who seek for irons of both playability and forgiveness in the golf shop, these irons are a wise choice.
